We are a small, family-oriented Catholic school in the heart of Pleasant Point, where our three classrooms are a community in themselves. Thanks to our small class sizes, we get to know every child as an individual, allowing us to offer personalised learning and genuine pastoral care that helps them thrive.
While our school may be small, our students have access to a wealth of opportunities, often even more than those at larger schools in the area. We believe in creating a strong sense of belonging, guided by our Catholic values, where every student feels seen, heard, and valued.
We're proud to be an inclusive school with no enrolment zone. We warmly welcome all families to become a part of our special community. Come and see what makes St. Joseph’s such a wonderful place to learn and grow!
Welcome to St. Joseph’s Pleasant Point! We're a learning community dedicated to nurturing the unique talents of every student. We believe that by embracing each child's individual story, we empower them to reach their full potential and find a strong sense of purpose.
Our passionate team works in partnership with whānau to create a rich learning environment that is both engaging and challenging. We're committed to fostering confident, capable, and compassionate young people. As a rural Catholic school, we take immense pride in our strong sense of community, faith, and services and values that are at the very heart of everything we do.
Beyond our classrooms, we are proud members of the Catholic Kāhui Ako and the Rural Schools Association. These partnerships allow us to provide our students with broader learning and sporting opportunities, helping them build friendships and teamwork skills with students from other schools.
We invite you to explore our website to learn more about St. Joseph’s. However, the best way to truly experience the warmth and spirit of our school is to visit us. We would love to meet you and share what makes our community so special.

We follow the teachings of St. Mary MacKillop, whose values of faith, compassion, perseverance, and service are the foundation of our school's ethos.
Make Room For AllThis value emphasises showing respect for us, for others, and for human rights. We celebrate diversity by being respectful and accepting of different cultures, languages, and heritages, and we make sure to include others and treat them fairly.
Do Your BitThis value is about being responsible and taking ownership of your actions. Our students are encouraged to actively participate and contribute, while also thinking critically and creatively. We strive to show fairness and social justice in all we do.
Listen to God's CallStudents are encouraged to live their faith by following the Golden Rule and treating others as Jesus would. This value also includes caring for our environment and striving for excellence by using our unique gifts and talents to aim high and persevere.
Attitude of GratitudeAn "Attitude of Gratitude" is shown by using manners and helping others. We teach our students to show appreciation and take care of property and the environment, living out the core belief of never seeing a need without doing something about it.
